Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Picotee’
Sweet little Picotee Cosmos are another favorite in my garden. They have bi-color white and pink blooms and make a great back of the border plant choice. Easy to grow and their light airy presence is a lovely creates beautiful movement in the landscape. In addition to their aesthetic qualities, they attract beneficial insects and butterflies. This variety attracts and supports pollinators and/or insects that prey on garden pests. It is also a wonderful cut flower.
The particular variety grows 36-40” tall.
Seeds should be sown directly in the soil, after the danger of frost and soil temps are above 60 degrees.
This variety prefers a full-sun location (>6 hours)
Plant seeds 1/2” deep and lightly cover with soil. Space seed 9-12” apart.
Be sure to water the seeds in well after planting.
For extended bloom time, plant the seeds in successions, 2-3 weeks apart for blooms all summer long.
Seedlings will emerge 7-10 days after planting.
