Join the Team!
Wildroot Flower Co. is looking for a hardworking, kind, and dependable individual to join our team this fall.
Our mission has always been to grow beautiful flowers and people. While flower farming is some of the most physically demanding work I've ever done, it's also some of the most rewarding. We work hard, laugh often, support one another, and take pride in leaving the farm better than we found it each day.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, isn't afraid to get dirty, and takes satisfaction in a job well done.
About the Position: Part-time Seasonal Field Assistant
Our Field Assistant is an important part of our production team. This position helps us transition the farm from the busy growing season into winter by planting, harvesting, maintaining crops, cleaning up beds, and preparing for next season.
This is a temporary, part-time position beginning in September and running through approximately mid-December.
Field Assistant Responsibilities:
Plant bulbs, perennials, and other fall crops
Harvest flowers and foliage
Weed and maintain production beds
Divide and transplant perennials
Remove spent crops and tear out beds
Install or remove landscape fabric, irrigation, and support netting
Wash harvest buckets and keep work areas organized
Assist with general farm projects as needed
Qualifications:
We're more interested in work ethic than flower farming experience.
The ideal candidate is someone who:
Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team
Works efficiently and pays close attention to detail
Is dependable, punctual, and takes pride in doing quality work
Can work outdoors in changing weather conditions
Is physically able to bend, squat, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds, and remain on their feet throughout the workday
Can work without being on their phone throughout the day
Has reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
Previous experience in farming, landscaping, greenhouse production, or another physically demanding, fast-paced job is helpful but not required.
Schedule:
September through approximately mid-December
2–3 days per week
Typical workday: 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Some flexibility is required as weather occasionally impacts our schedule.
Compensation:
Salary is based on previous experience and employee performance. Employees are paid bi-weekly via direct deposit. Employees are given a uniform allowance as well as discounted farm products.
